About the Doctors

Dr. Ron Fields

Dr Fields and family

Dr. Ron Fields was born and raised in South Georgia just east of Albany, in McRae. He grew up playing every sport available but especially loved football, baseball and tennis. A passion of his youth that has remained a constant is his love of the outdoors. Every moment he was not in school or on a sports field, he was hunting and fishing.

Dr. Fields graduated with honors from Telfair County High School in 2003. Throughout high school, he worked a range of jobs, from being the chef at a local pizza place and working at the local hardware store, to loading watermelons for local farmers and working for Coca Cola. Following his first year of college, Dr. Fields volunteered for two years as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, in London, England.

After returning from England, he graduated from South Georgia College, in Douglas, with an Associate of Science degree and then again with the highest honors from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, in 2009. During his college years, he served as a college senator, president and vice-president of dental clubs, a liaison between the dental and medical clubs, and founder of the dental club at Valdosta State University. Dr. Fields was accepted into dental school at MCG in 2010. While in dental school he was voted by his peers and professors to receive the Ralph McKinney Omicron Kappa Upsilon - Professionalism Award, which is given to a student based, in part, on the following traits: “Positive Role Model, Ethical, Moral, Trustworthy, Honest, Attitude of Service, A classmate that consistently conducts their self with class and humility, and is always willing to take time to help others, even without being asked to do so.”

Following graduation from dental school, he was accepted into the pediatric dental residency in Augusta where he received specialized training in the treatment of healthy children and those with special needs.  A component of this program was working at Scottish Rite and Egleston Hospitals in Atlanta, GA, where Dr. Fields became particularly well versed in the care of children with special needs and special health concerns.

Throughout all of this, factors that have remained a constant have been a love of God, family and the great outdoors! Dr. Fields chose to come to Albany so that he would be back home in South Georgia and have the convenience of a thriving city with wonderful southern hospitality!

Dr. Fields is married to Jessi Fields, from Douglas, Georgia. Jessi also graduated from the Medical College of Georgia as a physician’s assistant and then specialized in dermatology. Their sons, William- born in September of 2015 and Ryan-born May of 2019 are the lights of their lives!

Dr. Ken Sellers

Dr Sellers and family

Dr. Ken Sellers’ path into dentistry has been very unconventional. He was born in Hazlehurst, GA, where he grew up loving sports and anything outdoors. He graduated with honors from Jeff Davis High School and then attended Mercer University for two years before transferring to the University of Georgia, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.

For the next 17 years he started up and sold several businesses, including a coffee roasting company, an unfinished furniture manufacturing plant, and a large cabinet company. On October 31, 2009 everything changed when he lost his cabinet company in a fire. Faced with starting over he made the decision to go back to school and become a dentist.

At 40 years of age, Dr. Sellers was accepted into the MCG School of Dentistry, where he completed dental school. He then was accepted into the Pediatric Residency Program in Augusta, where he spent the next 2 years in intensive training learning how to treat pediatric patients, ranging from the healthy to the medically complex with special needs. A segment of his training was completed at Scottish Rite and Egleston Hospitals in Atlanta, where he became adept at treating medically complex children in conjunction with the other members of their health care team. His training includes over 300 cases that were treated under general anesthesia in the OR at these institutions.

Dr. Sellers is married to Angie Sellers and they have three children: Abby, Trey and Peyton. When he is not treating children he is playing golf, hunting with his kids or training his Boykin Spaniels. He loves being back in South Georgia!
