Meet Dr. Chamberlin, Our Pediatric Anesthesiologist
We have an experienced, certified pediatric anesthesiologist on staff who administers Intravenous (“IV”) sedation. Dr. Chamberlin is a Fellowship Trained, Triple Board Certified Anesthesiologist with over 17 years of clinical anesthesia experience. She is proficient with Level 1 traumas, difficult airways, ENT/Craniofacial, Thoracic and complex congenital pediatric anesthesia techniques. We are happy to have her as a part of our Southland Team to help ease the fears of our pediatric patients during their dental procedures.

Types Of Sedation Dentistry At Southland Children’s Dentistry
There are several reasons to use nitrous oxide (commonly called laughing gas) rather than complete sedation. It has been the primary way that doctors have helped relieve patients from anxiety. The gas is administered through a face mask, and you inhale it through your nose. As the anesthetic begins to work, you’ll feel a bit groggy and desensitized. Patients who choose to use nitrous are able to resume normal daily activities by the time the treatment is finished.
IV Sedation is a stronger form of sedation. If our doctors recommend this type of sedation, they would administer a liquid sedative through an IV directly into the patient’s bloodstream. IV sedation requires that you have a ride home from your appointment.
