Carly W. Thomas, DDS
Dr. Carly moved to Valdosta, Georgia in 1980 when her father was in the military, and she graduated from Lowndes High School in 1991. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Phillip’s University, and then went on to earn her dental degree with distinction and honors from the University of Oklahoma in 1999. There she was elected to Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a national dental honor society whose membership is selected based upon character and academic excellence.
Immediately following her dental education, she earned her specialty certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Florida where she held the position of chief resident. Dr. Carly completed her board certification in 2007 and became a Fellow with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, a distinction earned by fewer than 3% of pediatric dentists. Dr. Carly has practiced pediatric dentistry in South Georgia since 2001, and she’s excited about getting to know each of her patients and their parents.
While she has her fair share of hobbies (reading, exercise, traveling) and has enjoyed taking part in various charitable organizations, her greatest passion is her family. She and her high school sweetheart, James (aka “Dude” in Valdosta) have four wonderful, individual and independent children. With two in professional careers, one in college and one in grade school, she has learned even more about kids from personal experience.
Dr. Carly is thrilled to be joining the exceptional Southland team and cannot wait to see you soon!
